2020 has been a tumultuous year for many people. However, it seems as though the housing market is one of the few things to flourish during this uncertain climate.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, home sales in Horry County have almost doubled. While home sales initially stalled when the pandemic hit in April and May, the market began to open up soon thereafter.
Between May 2020 and July 2020, the real estate market saw a 64.9 percent increase in home sales in Horry County.
On the current trend, Annie Williams, a realtor in the area, says “All the reports I’ve read indicated we will have a’ V’ shaped recovery, which we did experience here. From all the other information that I am seeing, the other agents in the business, in general, have also experienced that. So, we’re all doing really good right now which is a great thing for our market.”
If you’re looking to sell your house anytime soon, realtors agree that the upcoming fourth quarter will continue to be a successful and profitable time for homeowners to sell their property.
