After having to cancel their 2020 baseball season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans are eager to get back on the field.
Officials for the Pelicans released their 2021 schedule, which includes 120 total games – 60 games at home and 60 games on the road.
The Pelicans will take the field for the first time in over a year on Tuesday, May 11 for their season opener against the Augusta GreenJackets.
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans recently accepted Major League Baseball’s invitation to remain a Low-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. However, there are some changes coming as the Pelicans enter a league (the South Division) with other teams from South Carolina for the first time. The South Division will now include in-state rivals like the Charleston RiverDogs and Columbia Fireflies.
All teams are abiding by the health and safety protocols set by the MLB to ensure everyone can safely enjoy the games this year.
