Our Top 5 Favorite New Restaurants In Myrtle Beach

Finding a new favorite restaurant is like finding gold. There are few things better than finding a spot that is consistently delicious with good service and a fun atmosphere. Anytime a new restaurant opens up, we’re the first to be sitting in a seat tasting the menu. Sometimes we find winners and sometimes we don’t. Thankfully there were a few winners that opened up recently.

Here are our favorite new restaurants in Myrtle Beach:

Atlantic City Sliders

1000 U.S. 17 N, North Myrtle Beach

Monday – Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Description: An affordable burger and fast food restaurant

One-Eyed Willies Seafood

700 U.S. 17, Surfside Beach

Sunday – Saturday, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Description: All you can eat seafood with a breezy beach atmosphere

Where To Find The Best Sushi In Myrtle Beach

Who doesn’t love sushi? Pretty much everybody enjoys these little rolls of deliciousness. There are so many different options and Myrtle Beach has some pretty awesome spots to grab a roll, or twelve, at.

Here are a few restaurants that are known to have delicious sushi in the Myrtle Beach area.

Art Burger Sushi Bar 

You can find this little unique spot right on the boardwalk. Their wide variety of sushi options is what makes them stand out. Like, the fried chicken roll topped with Macaroni and Cheese…YUM. They also decorate the restaurant with work from local artists, where they can advertise, sell and display their work for free.

King Kong Sushi

Voted Best Sushi in Myrtle Beach, King Kong Sushi has two locations, one at Broadway at the Beach and the other in Carolina Forest. You absolutely have to check this place out. The menu offers specialty rolls, riceless rolls, small rolls and plenty of other meal options. The Broadway location has a back porch where you can enjoy your meal overlooking the lake and is also a great nightlife spot!

Co. Sushi

Located right in Market Common next to the movie theater, Co. Sushi has an endless list of sushi, poke bowls, and hibachi (for those few non-eating sushi people). They also have a happy hour every Monday through Friday from 4 pm to 7 pm with pretty remarkable food and drink specials.

Wicked Tuna

Sushi with a view. Sit on the rooftop and enjoy the views of Murrell’s Inlet. They offer a Sushi bar with a large variety of options! Does Murrells Inlet sound too far for you? Don’t worry, they’re opening another rooftop bar at the 2nd Avenue Pier in Myrtle Beach!

Soho Café & Bar

You can conveniently find them near Ocean Blvd. on 21st. Avenue. Make sure you enjoy the views from the rooftop bar when you visit and be sure you plan to dine at Soho on Thursday nights because that’s when their 8-piece specialty sushi rolls are half off! They also occasionally have live music and open mic nights.

Flying Fish

Enjoying North Myrtle Beach? Make sure you plan a trip to Barefoot Landing for dinner at Flying Fish, located next to the Alabama Theater! This place is huge and offers a wide variety of meals, including delicious sushi!

Sugami

This popular spot among locals can be found on 48th Avenue North. It is a Japanese eatery that offers a long list of sushi and sashimi options.

There is nothing better than a delicious meal after a long, hot day filled with beach activities and with over 1,500 restaurants to choose from Myrtle Beach is sure to have something for every foodie! Yet, when it comes to that cheat meal you’ve been looking forward to all week, we’ve narrowed it down to these top 5 spots that are sure to satisfy your every taste bud:

  • Croissants Bistro & Bakery- Located in a shopping center just a few blocks off the main highway, Croissants Bistro & Bakery is a charming French-themed restaurant that serves brunch, lunch, and dinner- but brunch is where it’s at! From banana foster french toast topped with house-made whipped cream to breakfast style southern plates like shrimp n’ Grits, and freshly baked croissants, it’s safe to say this menu is a win! Reservations and an empty stomach are advised in advance!  (Ps. they also have a make-your-own Bloody Mary Bar which is a great plus!)
  • Art Burger Sushi Bar- This restaurant has literally everything in its title- Art, burgers, and sushi all in one establishment! Enjoy great views of the ocean while choosing from a variety of craft burgers (named after famous artists/artwork) such as The Dali– a delicious stack of grass-fed beef, Pico de Gallo, Guac, Lettuce, Roasted Garlic Sriracha, and cheddar cheese served inside warm tortillas! And if you want to go for the sushi side of things, they are just as creative!
  • Charlie Graingers- Served with a smile in a classic Americana atmosphere, hot dogs, brisket, and bbq are at the heart of this restaurant. And if that alone weren’t enough to sell you, it’s the unique twist they put on these southern favorites that will have you in heaven. For example, try one of their “World-Famous” hotdogs like the Lou’s Way– topped with homemade pimento cheese, Chipotle Chili, Jamaican Relish, Slaw, and onions, it is surely unlike any other hot-dog you’ve had before! And while you’re at it don’t forget to try one of their House-made Sandwiches piled high with brisket and bbq sauce!
  • Extreme Pizza- This list wouldn’t be complete without pizza! Extreme Pizza, located right by Broadway at the Beach, takes pizza to the extreme with their creative combinations. They literally call themselves “freethinking, pizza connoisseur daredevils” and after a look at their menu, it’s easy to see why- Just check out their Paia Pie, a local favorite topped with mandarin oranges, Canadian bacon, pineapples, mozzarella, and cheddar. Also, with vegan and gluten-free options, they truly have something for everyone!
  • International Cafe- This tiny hole-in-the-wall is a local favorite situated right in the heart of North Myrtle Beach at 221 Main St. Equipped with a variety of 40 different sandwiches, 60 beers from around the world and a wide array of appetizers this place is sure to hit the spot and be your best-kept secret! Rumor has it that the staff and service are amazing too!

Internation Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach

Bon Appetit! Learn About The International Culinary Institute Of Myrtle Beach

A new addition to the food scene in the Myrtle Beach area is ready for diners. The International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach is now open and accepting students. Those in attendance at the institute are already turning out delicious dishes with inspiration from instructors that are top chefs in their own right. Read on to learn a little more about the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach.

Studying at the Institute

The International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach is part of Horry Georgetown Technical College. The program is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the American Culinary Federation Educational Foundation. Students at the Institute can study a range of things including baking and pastry arts, cake decorating, kitchen and food preparation techniques, culinary arts technology, and professional cooking. Students in the Continuing Education Department can also take a variety of cooking and baking classes.

Student Run Restaurants

The public can enjoy the fruits of student labor in a restaurant called The Fowler Dining Room. The dining room provides training in a real restaurant operation and exposes students to fine dining, buffet and cafe service. The menus focus on different cooking techniques like taste, texture, color, and creativity. The menu utilizes locally grown vegetables, fruits, meats, seafood, cheese and eggs.

International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach

The menu for Spring 2018 is Pre Fixe as opposed to A La Carte. During the spring semester the dining room is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays only for both lunch and dinner. Reservations can be made by calling 843-839-7001. Seating for lunch is at 11:45 and dinner seating is available between 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm.

There is also a student run bakery at the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach.The Layers Bakery serves fresh baked pastries and breads, cakes, cookies, soup, salads, sandwiches and a selection of coffee daily. Proceeds from the bakery go towards the Horry Georgetown Technical Foundation, which provides support for students, faculty and staff. To see their daily specials, visit their Facebook page.

A Good Thing for Myrtle Beach

The addition of this program is good news for Myrtle Beach, whether you want to be a student at the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach, or just want to enjoy what they cook up. It also means more people will be attracted to the area to attend the school and that means more talent in our restaurants and bakeries after graduation.
