As the holiday season is coming to a close, many people are beginning to take down their decorations. If you’re curious about how to dispose of your Christmas tree, we’ve got you covered!
The Horry County Solid Waste Authority is encouraging residents to recycle their Christmas tree. From December 26th to January 26th, there will be a variety of Christmas tree recycling stations throughout the county that will recycle your tree into free landscaping mulch. Call (843) 347-1651 to find the closest recycling center to you. Be sure to remove the lights and decorations from your tree before taking the tree to the designated area.
It is important to note that Christmas trees should not be burned inside the home in fireplaces, as it can cause or contribute to a chimney fire.
