Nothing gets you going quite like a good cup of coffee. If you’re a caffeine fiend, you probably need to know the best coffee places wherever you are. With so many to choose from in the Myrtle Beach area, it can be tough to decide where to go. We’ve put together this list to help you out. Collector’s Cafe and Gallery is a romantic spot for dinner, but their coffee house is a much sought out destination for those seeking caffeine. The European style coffee house uses real Italian Espresso and they serve more than a dozen types of coffee beans. If you’re there and you have a craving for tea, you’re in luck. They over over two dozen types of tea.

Croissants Bistro & Bakery is a superb place to have breakfast. And their coffee selection makes it one of the best Myrtle Beach coffee shops. Have a latte with your crepes or a white chocolate mocha with your Crab Cake Benedict. They also have a wonderful selection of smoothies. You can also come throughout the day and enjoy your coffee with a delicious pastry.

This establishment is a little different than the rest of our favorite Myrtle Beach coffee shops. It’s a faith-based non-profit coffee house whose mission is “To provide a temporary safe haven for those in need, and connections to community resources and and caring people, with a Fresh Brewed cup of coffee.” You’ll find great coffee, tea, frappes, smoothies and desserts at Fresh Brewed. There are also special events like live music on a regular basis. And you’ll know you’re making a difference when you stop by.

Boardwalk Coffee House

As its name suggests, this coffee shop is on the boardwalk. It’s a great location to sip coffee and nosh on some great pastries, snacks, and sandwiches. Visitors to Boardwalk Coffee House like the atmosphere and the friendly staff. The drink menu includes fresh brewed coffee, lattes and other espresso drinks (even an espresso milkshake!) and smoothies.

The Roasted Bean

Visitors to the Roasted Bean rave about the quality of the coffee and breakfast options. Their bagels are a favorite among customers as are the cinnamon rolls. The selection of coffee and espresso flavors is vast. They roast the coffee in house, so you’re know you’re getting high quality, fresh beans. If you’re there around lunch time they also have great sandwiches.

A new addition to the food scene in the Myrtle Beach area is ready for diners. The International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach is now open and accepting students. Those in attendance at the institute are already turning out delicious dishes with inspiration from instructors that are top chefs in their own right. Read on to learn a little more about the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach.

Studying at the Institute

The International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach is part of Horry Georgetown Technical College. The program is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the American Culinary Federation Educational Foundation. Students at the Institute can study a range of things including baking and pastry arts, cake decorating, kitchen and food preparation techniques, culinary arts technology, and professional cooking. Students in the Continuing Education Department can also take a variety of cooking and baking classes.

Student Run Restaurants

The public can enjoy the fruits of student labor in a restaurant called The Fowler Dining Room. The dining room provides training in a real restaurant operation and exposes students to fine dining, buffet and cafe service. The menus focus on different cooking techniques like taste, texture, color, and creativity. The menu utilizes locally grown vegetables, fruits, meats, seafood, cheese and eggs.

International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach

The menu for Spring 2018 is Pre Fixe as opposed to A La Carte. During the spring semester the dining room is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays only for both lunch and dinner. Reservations can be made by calling 843-839-7001. Seating for lunch is at 11:45 and dinner seating is available between 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm.

There is also a student run bakery at the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach.The Layers Bakery serves fresh baked pastries and breads, cakes, cookies, soup, salads, sandwiches and a selection of coffee daily. Proceeds from the bakery go towards the Horry Georgetown Technical Foundation, which provides support for students, faculty and staff. To see their daily specials, visit their Facebook page.

A Good Thing for Myrtle Beach

The addition of this program is good news for Myrtle Beach, whether you want to be a student at the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach, or just want to enjoy what they cook up. It also means more people will be attracted to the area to attend the school and that means more talent in our restaurants and bakeries after graduation.
