Myrtle Beach artist and animal lover, Margo Koehler, is on a mission to help save the South Carolina state dog.
Margo’s love of art was noticeable at a young age, and she followed her dream all the way to Moore College of Art and Design. Before heading off to college though, Margo cleaned kennels for a Philadelphia SPCA where she found her passion for animals.
After college Margo headed to work on a farm in Southern New Jersey where she began her collection of animal paintings.
Now, Margo creates paintings for clients and all the money she earns go to South Carolina’s Boykin rescue, something she’s been doing since 2016. Although, this isn’t Margo’s first time raising money for animals. She raised over a quarter of a million dollars for the Pennsylvania SPCA and raised money for New Jersey K9’s.
Margo hopes to meet more Boykin owners and lovers at the 2019 Boykin Spaniel Society Nationals so she can continue creating paintings and help raise even more money for the Boykin rescue. As she said on her website, ”
I believe that if you allow your passion to do good, everyone wins.”
